So I've been doing some serious slacking. My bad. But let me make it up to you. I'll let you in on a little secret. It's the best sushi on the east side of the island. Mighty Sushi. It's awesome. It's amazing. So much so that I ate (take-out) there for my birthday. My husband picked up the sushi for me and told me that the place was empty. On a Friday night. Sad. I can't really think of a reason for it. Their prices are decent and the sushi is great. The only thing lacking is the ambiance. No ambiance to speak of whatsoever. I am totally convinced that with a serious make over this place would be packed. Oh yeah, and maybe quicker service. Anywhos, if you are near Pahoa and have a serious hankering for sushi, stop here.
On the menu:
Sunrise roll. My absolute favorite because I am so totally in love with raw salmon. There is salmon in the roll and on top of it.
Spicy tuna roll: You can choose which type of fish you want in the spicy roll.
Kani roll: Made with real (not imitation) crab. My husband likes this roll, but I find it a little bland.
Side note: Most of their rolls have tempura style fish or other fried seafood. I really like my seafood raw, and it seems like a majority of their rolls are fried or have fried ingredients.
Sunrise roll, partially devoured. |
Lambada roll, ready to be inhaled. |
Kani roll, top, and spicy tuna roll, bottom. |
